Furore fjord

The fjord that enchants thousands of tourists from all over the world is located in Furore, a small village on the Amalfi Coast nestled between Amalfi and Positano, stretching to the border with Praiano and Conca dei Marini.

The Furore fjord is what locals call a ria, an inland indentation of the sea, caused by the lowering of the coastline due to millennia of erosion caused by the wild flow of the Schiato torrent.

Crossed by a road supported by a high bridge, the fjord is also home to a fishing village and

But with ideal sea conditions, admiring the Furore fjord from the sea is a unique experience, and you can do so thanks to the boat excursions organized along the Amalfi Coast.

It’s almost impossible to park your car at Fiordo di Furore. There are no parking areas so you can walk down to the beach once you’ve left your car. How to reach Fiordo di Furore by car and avoid parking problems? The best, quickest and most stress-free way is to book a car tour of the Amalfi Coast.

For those taking public transport, there’s the SITA bus company that crosses the entire Amalfi Coast: just take the line to Amalfi and, if you’re coming from Naples, change to Sorrento once you’ve reached the terminus. If, on the other hand, you’re coming from Salerno, take the bus to Amalfi: in both cases, you’ll have to get off at the stop just over the bridge, or continue with the Agerola-Amalfi line to reach the upper part of the “paese che non c’è”, before the hidden houses.

Fiordo di Furore is just one of the many wonders of this corner of Campania, with its magical atmosphere somewhere between legend and reality: one thing’s for sure though, spending a day here will become a memory to be carried in your heart forever.
